Canvas 2: Akane Iro no Palette itself is a spin-off of Canvas ~Sepia-iro no Motif~, a visual novel first released for the PC by a subsidiary of F&C, called Cocktail Soft on November 24, 2000. Interchannel released a Dreamcast version of the game on April 5, 2001. The game was later ported to the PlayStation 2 on April 10, 2003 by Interchannel.
