DISD serves most of the city of Dickinson as well as portions of the cities of La Marque , League City , and Texas City and some houses in unincorporated Galveston County (including most of Bacliff and all of San Leon ).
It is NISD's 11th comprehensive high school. The 486,000-square-foot (45,200 m 2) building, with a cost of $110 million, is NISD's largest school campus. It opened on August 28, 2017. For the 2021-2022 school year, the school was given a "B" by the Texas Education Agency.
