The College of Health Professions is located on VCU's MCV Campus and was created in 1969. The name of the college was formerly the "School of Allied Health Professions" but was changed to its current moniker in 2018. [3] Today, the College enrolls approximately 1,300 students. ACHS became accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission in 2003 and changed its name from the Australasian College of Herbal Studies to the Australasian College of Health Sciences. In May 2009, ACHS changed its name to the American College of Healthcare Sciences. In September 2016 ACHS became a Certified B Corporation.
History. On January 14, 2004 the Board of Regents established the first School of Public Health in the University System of Georgia and named it the Jiann-Ping Hsu School of Public Health. Establishment of the School was made possible by a private donation from Dr. Karl E. Peace, in memory and honor of his wife, Dr. Jiann-Ping Hsu.
