CSU Pueblo is located north of CO-47 in Pueblo, Colorado, a city of approximately 112,000 residents located in the Pikes Peak region of southern Colorado. The university's 275-acre (1.11 km 2) main campus is located in the Belmont area of northern Pueblo. The original 850-acre land was donated to build the campus.
CSU Pueblo saw the return of football in 2008 with the construction and completion of its new football stadium, the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. 2010s to present. The CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves football program represent Colorado State University Pueblo in college football at the NCAA Division II level. They have fielded a football team every year since 1938 with the exceptions of 1943–1945 and 1985–2007.

He is the head football coach for Colorado State University Pueblo, a position he has held since 2023. He previously was the head coach for the Western New Mexico Mustangs football team from 2021 to 2022. He also coached for Colorado Mines, Northwest Missouri State, Colorado Mesa, Fort Hays State, and Stephen F. Austin.

It was originally named CSU-Colorado, but that name was replaced early on with its current title. On May 7, 2008, the CSU System Board of Governors delegated authority to CSU Global to oversee academic, personnel, and financial matters consistent with powers granted to CSU and CSU Pueblo. CSU Global first opened in September 2008.
