[1] [2] The district operates all district public schools in Jefferson Parish and covers the entire parish. [3] As of 2019 it had 50,582 students, making it the largest public school system in the state.
History. The present Livonia High School was established in Livonia in 1915. [3] The following year, 1916, this school was combined to also include all of the students from Valverda and Dreyfus schools. The present Livonia High building was built in 1936. It was originally a two-story brick building. The second floor was lost to a fire in 1971.
