The Edwardsville Intelligencer is an American daily newspaper in Illinois based in Edwardsville. The paper is circulated in Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, and nearby rural areas. History. The newspaper was founded as the Madison Intelligencer in 1862; it was a Democratic newspaper. It was published by James R. Brown and Henry C. Barnsback.
Edwardsville is a part of Southern Illinois and the Metro East region within Greater St. Louis, located 18 miles (29 km) northeast of downtown St. Louis.
