Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is a school district in California, headquartered in Chula Vista, in the South Bay area of San Diego County.. The 103-square-mile (270 km 2) district, the largest Kindergarten through Grade 6 elementary school district in the State of California, is located between the City of San Diego and the United States-Mexico border.
A new site in Chula Vista was chosen and a new school was built. In 2007, the name was changed from Marian Catholic High School to Mater Dei Catholic and the school moved to its present location. The original campus was located in South San Diego , near the intersection of Coronado Avenue and Thermal Street.
