On March 29, 2021, at 2:38 a.m., a 13-year-old Mexican American boy, Adam Toledo, was shot and killed by Eric Stillman, a Chicago Police Department officer, in the Little Village neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. After the incident, the Chicago Police Department stated Toledo had been killed after an armed confrontation with police.
