It serves the Tucson metropolitan area with a community college district consisting of five campuses, four education centers, and several adult education learning centers. Pima Medical Institute was founded in Tucson, Arizona, in January 1972 by Richard Luebke, Sr. and his wife, JoAnn. The first program offered was nursing assistant. In 2019, a partnership with Pima Community College was announced under which students could earn an associate degree from Pima and a bachelor's degree in business management from Catholic University. Over the course of the program, two-thirds of courses will be taken remotely and one-third will be taken on the Pima campus.
