Chicago P.D. (TV series) Chicago P.D. (TV series) Chicago P.D. is an American police procedural action drama television series created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead and is the second installment of Wolf's Wolf Entertainment 's Chicago franchise. The series premiered on NBC as a mid-season replacement on January 8, 2014.
At the time, Weis was the second Chicago police superintendent hired from outside of the city. He replaced Philip J. Cline, who officially retired on August 3, 2007.
