Up until 1999 Miami High School housed the district preschool and grades 9–12. In 1999, in order to cut costs, the separate middle school, Lee Kornegay Middle School, was folded back into the high school for the first time in 75 years, returning the school to its current 7-12 grade range. In 1950, Jerome and Clarkdale consolidated into "Mingus High School", and in 1958, Cottonwood High School was added, creating the new Mingus Union High School. [7] Citizens pushed to create a new high school district instead of consolidating both the Jerome-Clarkdale and Cottonwood school districts completely. This happened in 1957 and 1958.
Bullion Plaza School. The Bullion Plaza School, at 1000 Plaza Ave. in Miami, Arizona, was designed by architects Trost & Trost in Classical Revival style and was built in 1923. It served as a school from 1923 to 1994 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. [1][3] It now is the Bullion Plaza Museum.
