List of governors. Following is the list of governors of Jharkhand since its inception on 15 November 2000. As of date, ten governors have been appointed to office. The first governor was Prabhat Kumar who served from 2000 till 2002. The current governor is C. P. Radhakrishnan who has been in office since 18 February 2023.
Profession. Civil servant, politician. Prabhat Kumar is an Indian politician and retired civil servant. An Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1963 batch, he served as the Cabinet Secretary between 1998 and 2000. [1] Upon creation of the State of Jharkhand in November 2000, he was made the first governor. [2][3]

He also served as the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024, and as the as Governor of Telangana (Additional Charge) and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry (Additional Charge) between March 2024 to July 2024.
