Belated, but: Barton Peveril (with the latter spelled variously) aka Barton was one of the two villages – the other being Eastley [sic] – that in 1868 was incorporated into the new town of Eastleigh (name and spelling chosen by the prominent Victorian novelist Charlotte Mary Yonge who resided in nearby Otterbourne).
