According to the University of Law, the Moorgate centre is the UK's largest corporate-specific law school. In 2012, The College of Law underwent a major restructuring. The College of Law Limited was created as a private limited company to take on its educational and training business.

In December 1940 the college's building was destroyed by a German air raid. The college subsequently moved into premises at 84 Moorgate (now the Guildhall School of Business and Law) in 1944. The college celebrated its centenary in 1948 with a service of thanksgiving addressed by the Archbishop of Canterbury at St Paul's Cathedral.
There is a campus of the London Metropolitan University, formerly a polytechnic, and part of the London Guildhall University, on Moorgate. The campus houses its business school, a library, and other administrative facilities. A number of large buildings are being planned or already built in the neighbouring streets.
