Athletics. Yuba City High School's athletic program used to compete in Division I of the Sac-Joaquin Section as a member of the Sierra Foothill League (until 1970), North Metro League (1970–76), Delta League (1976–1998, 2000–02), Capital Athletic League (1998–2000) and Metro Conference (2002–06).
On May 21, 1976, Yuba City High School chartered a school bus from Student Transportation Lines, Inc. to transport its a cappella choir from Yuba City, California, to Miramonte High School in Orinda for a friendship day involving the choirs of the two schools. The company supplied a Crown bus, dating from 1950.
Original school designed by Dwight H. Perkins, in use from 1908 to 1934. Founding. The school is named after Albert G. Lane, a former principal and superintendent of Chicago Public Schools from 1891 until 1898. It was founded in 1908 and dedicated on Washington's Birthday in 1909, as the Albert Grannis Lane Manual Training High School.
