Winfield is an incorporated village located in Milton and Winfield Townships, DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The DuPage River headwaters are located directly to the north, and the river runs through the village. The population was 9,835 at the 2020 census, [4] and was estimated to be 10,046 in 2022.

Winfield is a station on Metra 's Union Pacific West Line, located in Winfield, Illinois, at the corner of Jewell Road and Winfield Road. The station is 27.5 miles (44.3 km) away from Ogilvie Transportation Center, the eastern terminus of the West Line. [2] In Metra's zone-based fare system, Winfield is in zone 4.

This fell out of fashion when Germany became an enemy in WWI. The village was incorporated in the 1920's and named Winfield, after General Winfield Scott, who had passed near the village on Army Trail Road, during the Black Hawk War. The village remained small until new subdivisions were put in following WWII.
