In 1994, the Union became known as Kingston University Students' Union (KUSU) following Kingston's elevation to University status. The Union registered as a charity in 2011. In 2015, KUSU rebranded to the Union of Kingston Students (UKS) and moved its offices into the Main building due to the redevelopment of the Town House the following year.
