Section 1.2 of Manual of Style (dates and numbers), concerns the linkage of dates that contain the months and the day in that month. I would like to propose amending this section to include the correct English day/date format.
The template Cite web instructions shows in sections 1.1 and 1.2 the examples for |accessdate=July 11, 2011 and |accessdate=11 July 2011 and then in the Examples section it only shows |accessdate=11 July 2011 format. There is no example or indication that YYYY-MM-DD is possible. Maybe that is controlled by the MOS. Maybe it should say that to be clear or point to the MOS section for clarification.
Dates in month–day–year format require a comma after the day, as well as after the year, unless followed by other punctuation. The last element is treated as parenthetical .
