The Mesa Arizona Temple (formerly the Arizona Temple; nicknamed the Lamanite Temple) is the seventh operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The intent to build the temple was announced on October 1, 1919, by church president Heber J. Grant , during the church's general conference .

Edgewater Dr. The house was built by actor Lorne Greene, who played Ben Cartwright, the patriarch of the Cartwright family in the popular 1960s TV series Bonanza. Sears was the first anchor store to open in the mall, doing so in 1977.
Chandler entered into a contract with the city of Mesa to manage their canal and eventually was able to unite all the canals south of the Salt River, similar to what William John Murphy did with the Arizona Canal. By 1900, Chandler had acquired and owned an 18,000-acre ranch.
