Clovis Community College is a public community college in northeastern Fresno, California [3] near Clovis. It is in the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) along with Fresno City College and Reedley College (which includes the Madera and Oakhurst Centers). It has a satellite campus on Herndon Avenue in Fresno.
Clovis Community College was established in 1961 as a branch campus of Eastern New Mexico University in conjunction with the Clovis Municipal Schools. The current campus was constructed in 1978 and rests on 25 acres (100,000 m 2) of land donated by Ervin Schepps. Over time, CCC grew to cover 100 acres (0.40 km 2 ).
The Clovis culture is an archaeological culture from the Paleoindian period of North America, spanning around 13,050 to 12,750 years Before Present. [1] The type site is Blackwater Draw locality No. 1 near Clovis, New Mexico, where stone tools were found alongside the remains of Columbian mammoths in 1929. [2]
