Cambridge English: Young Learners, formerly known as Young Learners English Tests (YLE), is a suite of English language tests specially designed for children in primary and lower-secondary school. The tests are provided by the Cambridge Assessment English (previously known as the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations).
The Young Learners Tests of English ( YLTE) is a set of English language tests for learners in primary and middle grades. The tests are developed by CaMLA, a non-profit collaboration between the University of Michigan and the University of Cambridge . The tests cover all four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
UCLES worked with Homerton College (a teacher training college within the University of Cambridge) to trial test questions with over 3,000 children in Europe, South America and South East Asia. The feedback was used to construct the first Young Learners English (YLE) tests, targeted at learners aged 6–12, which went live in 1997.
PTE Young Learners (formerly known as LTEfC) is an English language exams for young children (aged from 7 to 12) who learning English as a foreign language. They test the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. PTE Young Learners exams are based around the adventures of the Brown family.
