Jharkhand is located in the eastern part of India and is enclosed by West Bengal to the eastern side, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh to the western side, Bihar to the northern part and Odisha to the southern part. Jharkhand envelops a geographical area of 79,716 square kilometres (30,779 sq mi).
At the time of formation, Jharkhand state had 18 districts. Later, six more districts were carved out by reorganizing these districts. The 23rd and 24th districts- Khunti and Ramgarh (carved out of erstwhile Ranchi and Hazaribagh District respectively) were made a district on 12 September 2007.

According to the 2011 Census of India, Ichak CD block had a total population of 112,815, all of which were rural. There were 58,244 (52%) males and 54,571 (48%) females. Population in the age range 0-6 years was 17,844. Scheduled Castes numbered 23,607 (20.93%) and Scheduled Tribes numbered 2,988 (2.65%).
Demographics. According to the 2011 Census of India, Chainpur had a total population of 6,507, of which 3,300 (51%) were males and 3,207 (49%) were females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 830. The total number of literate persons in Chainpur was 5,014 (88.32% of the population over 6 years).
Chalkusha is located at 24°14′39″N 85°44′11″E . Chalkusha CD block is bounded by Markacho CD block, in Koderma district, on the north, Birni and Suriya CD blocks, in Giridih district, on the east, Barkatha CD block on the south and on the west.
