Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), formerly known as Future Homemakers of America, is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization [1] for young men and women in family and consumer sciences education in public and private schools through grades 6–12 since 1945. FCA invites dozens of artists and arts professionals to anonymously propose one exceptional individual, collective, or performing group. Then, FCA’s Directors, together with an advisor in each discipline, select grantees based on the merit and imaginativeness of their work and the impact such support might have at this point in their careers.
History. FCA was founded in 1954 by Eastern Oklahoma A&M basketball coach Don McClanen, who later resigned to become its full-time director. After watching sports stars use fame to endorse and sell general merchandise, McClanen wrote to 19 prominent sports figures asking for their help in establishing an organization that would use the same principle to share the Christian faith.

The class of 1916 were among the first graduates of the High School and after World War 1, student enrollment increased and a new building for the school was built. The new building was completed in 1924 and had multiple additions to add a gymnasium as well as more classrooms.
