To manage and recover your account if you forget your password or username, make sure you have access to the recovery phone number or alternate email address you've added to your AOL account. IMAP syncs your email regardless of where you use it, which means emails will be sorted based on the client's specifications. Check to see if your account been deactivated for inactivity
Check your display name: If you have any combination of "AOL" in your display name, the message won't go through. It is especially important to check your Mail settings for this if your account has been recently compromised, as hackers will often change your name to make it harder for you to use your account normally even after it's secured.
