Cuyahoga County is a large urban county in northeastern Ohio, with Cleveland as its county seat and largest city. It is named after the Cuyahoga River, which means "crooked river" in Iroquoian, and has a population of over 1.2 million as of 2020.
Pokorny declined to run for re-election in 1964, instead seeking to challenge incumbent Cuyahoga County Recorder Mark McElory.
