Tahiri has been the President of the Kosovo Democratic Alternative (ADK) since its founding. The Democratic League of Kosovo (Albanian: Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës, LDK) is the oldest and one of the largest political parties in Kosovo. Parliamentary elections are held every four years, the most recent in 2021.
Members of the Party for the Democratic Progress of Kosovo were blacklisted by the US under then-President George W. Bush in 2001.[14] [15]In the 2004 legislative elections, the party won 28.9% of the popular vote and 30 out of 120 seats in the Assembly of Kosovo; in 2007 PDK won a majority for the first time with 35% of the vote.
