[3] The Federal Bureau of Prisons initially proposed converting two buildings at Industry City into a federal jail in 1988, due to overcrowding at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, New York. [4]
Additionally, the Houston campus of MIAT is approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges, Austin, Texas. The Houston Campus was awarded ACCSC's School of Excellence Award for 2014. MIAT was recognized each year from 2010 through 2016 as a G.I. Jobs Military Friendly School.
The Cairns campus is located in the heart of the CBD and supports more than 2,200 on-campus and online students across the Far North region. Additional campus sites are located on the fringe of the CBD to provide state-of-the-art and contextual learning for CQU's aviation, sport sciences, paramedic science, and engineering courses.
