The school housed grades 9–11 in 1998–1999, and the first class graduated in 1999–2000. Dr. Elise Gruber became principal in 2000 and was succeeded by Dr. Michael R. Blasewitz in 2004. In 2012 Dr. Blasewitz was named Director of High Schools of Seminole County Public Schools.
Oviedo High School is a grade 9–12 public secondary school set on a 52-acre (21 ha) campus in Oviedo, Florida, a community situated in southeastern Seminole County operated by Seminole County Public Schools.
It was not unusual for students, especially 10th grade, to have classes on both campuses, commuting between both via shuttle bus or on foot in a manner similar to college/university students. The following academic year, 1972–73, all Lyman students returned to the main campus.
The school is part of Seminole County Public Schools. It is the academic and athletic rival school of Oviedo High School. In 2015, Hagerty High School was ranked 1st of 18 high schools in the Seminole County Public Schools by U.S. News & World Report. [2]
The ram is the Lake Mary High School mascot. In 2010, Chrysler objected to its corporate ram logo being used without permission. [3] The Seminole County School Board ordered removal of Chrysler's logo from T-shirts, benches, wrestling mats, the school track and gym floor by June 15, 2010. [4]
