In the evening, during the election results, JMM leader and Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren addressed the media and thanked the people of Jharkhand for the mandate. He also expressed his gratitude to his alliance partners , Congress & RJD and their president, Sonia Gandhi & Lalu Prasad Yadav respectively.
Jharkhand state elects six members and they are indirectly elected by the state legislators of Jharkhand. The number of seats allocated to the party, are determined by the number of seats a party possesses during nomination and the party nominates a member to be voted on.

At the time of formation, Jharkhand state had 18 districts. Later, six more districts were carved out by reorganizing these districts. The 23rd and 24th districts- Khunti and Ramgarh (carved out of erstwhile Ranchi and Hazaribagh District respectively) were made a district on 12 September 2007.
Kaimur district is one of the 38 districts of Bihar, India.The district headquarters are at Bhabua.Before 1991, it was part of Rohtas District.Till 1764 the region (Kaimur district) was a part of Ghazipur District and was a part of Kamsaar Raj and later it was a part of Chainpur Estate till 1837.
