Assam University is a central public university located at Silchar, Assam, India. It was founded in the year 1994 by the provisions of an act enacted by the Parliament of India.
The University established the College at Raha, starting development of academic and hostel units, along with office spaces. [ 3 ] The ICAR Accreditation Committee proposed starting the academic program at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Khanapara, but the Government of Assam recommended moving it to Raha. [ 3 ]
