The historic Green Hope School was established in 1927 and was the first accredited rural high school in Wake County, serving 200 students in grades 1 through 12. [2] In 1952, it was renamed Green Hope Elementary School when the higher grades were reallocated to nearby Cary or Apex High Schools.
